Our initial observations were that it was uncomfortable, plain, squeaky and ugly. We wanted to make it more comfortable and make more appealing and fun. Our final design started with the felt and it was very difficult to form around the chair and to glue it onto the chair. We also used paint, it kept getting everywhere because it was wet and we would forget. The hot glue was really got and stringy and it was getting everywhere. I got red paint on the chair so we had to cover the spot with white felt. Our chair ended up looking very nice with the time we were given. It is now comfortable and appealing to look at.
During this project I collaborated and solved problems. I asked Tori and Taylor for their opinions on which photo I should choose. They also helped me decide if the exposure was too high or not while I was editing. I had a few problems during this project. One of the problems was that my dog kept walking away as I was trying to take the photo. To solve this problem I got treats to keep her focused. The lighting was also tricky to work with because the sun was bright but then the clouds would cover it, so I had to keep adjusting my aperture and shutter speed while using manual. Overall, I was happy with how my project despite the challenges I encountered.
Mid Project Reflection: In this image I believe that the black background works well. It helps the colors and textures stand out. I also believe that the color scheme helps keep the photograph tied together. I think that I could have been more creative with the lighting and the placement of the nature objects. The image shows me that nature is beautiful and that the beauty in small items can be brought out. I could create a more dynamic story by including more details like different objects. End of Project Reflection:
Throughout trying to take pictures of my found object project I communicated and solved problems. My photo is of some of my ribbons from my horse shows. I save all of my ribbons from each show as a memory of that day. This artwork shows who I am because it shows that I collect or have ribbons. You can tell that they are horseback riding ribbons because of the horses on the ribbons. The photo tells the audience more about myself. While planning for this project I was thinking I would take the photos outside because I love natural light photos. However, after I took everything outside and went to take pictures I realized that I couldn’t control where the shadows were and I noticed that my shadow kept getting in the picture. I responded to this problem by taking my project inside and using a desk light to control my shadows and lighting. I like the way the lighting ended up making my photograph look because the center is the focus and the lighting improves that focal point. |
